Shooting

Earlier this week, we began to film our opening sequence. We went to local sites near college including Prairie and a closed down pub.

Since we opted to film a post apocalyptic film. We needed to film in locations which looked deserted and run down. This helps our film and story look more realistic.

We shot the scenery using slow moving panning shots.

We also started filming in each others houses. We filmed two of us watching the news seeing the apocalypse develop. The news consists of a riot developing in London.

Production titles.

As part of our coursework, we have to create our own production company to make our film look more professional. As a group we discussed potential names and backgrounds. We mutually decided to go with "Horizon Productions" we designed a logo for our production company and are now in the process of creating a colabaration for the logo.

We are also trying to come up with another production company for our film. We like the title "Closed Door Productions" so are hoping to create a background for that in the coming weeks.

I have also learnt that our very own Kyle Bennett is a YouTube sensation, where he stars in a video of him popping up from behind a table, shaking his hands saying "I'm a dirty wizard!". I genuinely believe that this could be a potential production company for our film. I personally think that "Dirty Wizard Productions" has a good ring to it. I have added the clip of Kyle below!!

After failing to convince everyone that "Dirty Wizard Productions" was a good idea. Completely out of the blue, Cameron suggested "Dead Mouse Productions. We all liked the idea, so I took a photo of a computer upside down. We have now decided that this is our second production company.

After much debating, we once again changed our minds, and now leaning towards "Pendle Hill Films"

Soundtrack.

As a group, we have been on the look out for an ideal track for our 2 minute opening sequence. We mutually decided that we would like to use Prelude 3.0 by Slipknot.

We have been looking for contact details for Slipknot to ask permission to use their song.

If we are unable to get permission to use their song, we will access other options, such as covers from unsigned bands and artists. We will also require permission to do this too.

Locations

As a group, we went looking around the town looking for ideal locations to shoot our film. We looked for specific buildings which looked run down and old. We also took photos of shops etc which had been destroyed.

Film Ideas

As a group we discussed what film we were going to do and how to do it. Some of our ideas were....

• A teenager finds a bag full of money, this would include; the gang members who lost the money talking to their boss about the situation. This would also include the teenager showing all of his friends the money.

• A homeless man think about the past when he had lots of money. This film idea would include; flshbacks of him in big houses with his friends etc. He would also think back to when he lost all his money at a game of poker.

• Another idea we mentioned was about a mother going missing in a supermarket, leaving the child on their own. This could also be done the other way around to. This would be a heart wrenching thriller as the child tries to get his parents back.

• A parody film about the elderly bullying the youth. In this film we would get old people throwing rocks etc at teenagers as they walk by. This film would be serious but have a humourus side to it.

• A zombie film was another idea. We would film an empty town centre and streets by getting up early hours of the morning to give it a sense of tension.

These are only a handful of idea we have discussed. This blog will be updated as the ideas develop.
